First things first: Happy Birthday Archana!!!
So, New York seems to have a pretty distinct cupcake culture that I’ve never quiet experienced the same way in Chicago. And I think I’ve just came across some of the most lovely looking ones yet. I sampled them tonight at Archana’s birthday party (yup, the same place where I had those delightful cheesecake treats from Eileen’s). They’re from Chikalicious in the East Village:
Don’t you just want to reach in the screen and gobble them up right now?? So happy I had them in real time. They have the most fluffy, light topping. I tried the coconut, mocha, and caramel — loved the mocha and caramel ones especially because they both had a gooey filling of intense coffee flavor, and caramel respectively. I’ve always tried to stop by the actual store in the East Village, but it’s always busy. Nice to have them come to me for a change!
Cupcakes run from $1.60 to $2.25 for the ones with fillings!
