Have you cut down on eating at restaurants?

Eating out not so appetizing nowadays?
Eating out not so appetizing nowadays?

As you can tell, I eat out a lot. I know I should grocery shopping or cooking more, but sometimes my days are too unpredictable.

And other times, there’s no better way around it when you want to catch up with friends. Good food and good company? Sign me up.

But I want to know, in light of the current economy, are you eating out less? Are you picking up some cooking skills?

I’ve been trimming here and there, but in the grand scheme of things, I would say my own eating out habits have remained stagnant, mostly because to me it’s just as much about the food as it is the people; not that you can’t have a nice home cooked meal with friends, but my transferred residence beyond the city borders calls for making reservations now. I guess that’s why I’m a self-proclaimed foodie. What about you?

  2. I love to cook as it is, but I definitely have cut down on eating out, and it actually began before the economic condition got so bad. It wasn’t until I started interning in the summers during undergrad and making my own real money that I noticed how much goes into eating out!

Buying $8 lunches everyday make me realize how much more sense it makes to try and bring from home or at least cook dinner at home to balance things out. Obviously I still go out to eat a couple of times a week, also partially because that’s one of the main forms of socializing, but I definitely prefer cooking when I can.
