BATF Giveaways

BATF’S $400+ Mother’s Day Giveaway!

April 15, 2009

Angelina Jolie is a fan!

Angelina Jolie is a fan!

I’m in a good mood. Giveaways make me happy, and $400+ ones are no exception! Celebrity fans for this next brand include Angelina Jolie, Natalie Portman, Kate Hudson, and Demi Moore (are you excited yet??). This week, I’m giving away products from Luxtural, created by Pnina Vilinsky. It’s a prestige skin care brand that focuses on deep hydration as the epicenter of its anti-aging regimen. I also review it on Marie Claire’s website here. It uses pure pacific rainwater, sea weed, hyaluronic acid, peptides, and other natural ingredients to give a complete anti-aging regimen.

According to their website, Luxtural products:

  • Raises skin’s hydration level by 120% and up to a maximum of 182% after 5 minutes.
  • Skin could achieve up to a maximum of 50% improvement in visual appearance after 5 minutes and up to a maximum of 48%, 6 hours after application.
  • Pnina is gifting the winner with:

    Facial Deep Hydrating Rainy Mist – 3.4 fl.oz/ 100ml

    Facial Deep Moisturizing Anti-Aging Lotion – 1.35 fl.oz/40 ml

    Facial Anti-Aging Deep Moisturizing Serum – 1.2 fl.oz/ 35 ml

These normally retail for $414, but get it for free if you win BATF’s giveaway! Guys and gals, you might want to get on this since I’m thinking it’d make a fab gift in time for Mother’s Day on May 9th! The bottles themselves are seriously a piece of art. Check out their website a for more info.

I’m going to make this just as easy as the first giveaway, but a little more interesting this time: From now until Wed. April 22nd 11pm EST, leave a comment on this post about what you really want to read about on BATF (anything you’re digging and want more of, or anything you’re dying to know more about in the food or beauty categories) and you’re in!

Winner will be announced Thursday, April 23rd. Must be in the US to receive prize (sorry folks, going to expand these parameters soon enough!).

    Good luck!

I’d like to see a blog on a male spa. You should get your editors to pay for your experience. Also, maybe it’s already there, but a link to all your blogs on food under one link or click. So that way, if I’m looking to try something new, i can click it and pick a place you have photographed and reviewed.

I love when products go beyond 100% so I am very excited!!!!
I love the info on beauty and the food but I’d love to get your take on fashion and maybe hair. I think quick do s and fun styles for hair always make such an impression and sometimes thats all you need with a cute outfit.

Perhaps a post on the best dry shampoo? I’ve been wondering which one’s actually work and which don’t!

i want to know how asian hair stays up and defies gravity the way it does! and without being so shiny, it looks like that out-of-bed look, but with more gravity defiance to it.

anything asian for that matter, and im happy! you know how i be! =D

i would like to see more hair-related coverage too, specifically for curly hair, as i think that’s an underrepresented demographic. foodwise, i’d like to see more variety, and also does it have to be all about eating out, maybe you could chronicle some home-cooking experiences with pictures and recipes. and above all i think you should have more giveaways.

      Hi Shy!

So glad I found your blog in time for a give away! You know I love products!

When I was in India last summer, I found out that MAC makes special colors sold only in India for Indian women. The base is more gold (I think?) instead of yellow. I usually have to mix my concealers for it to look right. I’d like to see something about makeup for women who have trouble finding what colors suit them because of their skin tone.

Burgers. You have to review more burgers.

Also how about some gift ideas for girls ..but something that removes thinking from the process. I just want a table where i can look up how much I want to spend and then see what gift i’m supposed to get depending on her age. Also include a link of where i can buy it. ..hmm this gives me an idea for a website…

Oh and shower heads. People never discuss the importance of a good shower head. I feel like mine is devolumizing my hair and making it coarse.

    9. Omar Sattar

I like the music blog (Lady Gaga). So you got that covered.

I would probably add what Shoaib said. He is a smart man doing big things. But seriously, I would probably add more information of the effects of hair product stuff because when I go to Duane Reade I see like 50 types of gels, pastes, waxes and don’t know what is the best and the least harmful as well.

I love most of the content so far and clearly I comment frequently to tell you that. I enjoy the posts where you ask questions to your readers for them to answer about their own experiences. A couple of things I would like to see:

      1) Weekly/bi-weekly or even monthly favorites. Like a roundup of some of your favorite beauty/hair products at that moment or of the season.

      2) More “Get That Look” whether it’s from personal or professional sources.

      3) Maybe have a monthly guest blogger for beauty take you through what’s in his/her own collection…like a chosen person can pick five-odd things that he/she uses/recommends; can do the same for food where a monthly guest (doesn’t have to be monthly but for the sake of keeping it your blog/not running out of people…) outlines 3 of his/her top eating experiences.

Hope these help! Love the blog, as you know :)

I’ve heard mixed reviews about these products so I’d love to try it out without having to spend a ridiculous amount of money!!

    13. Yasmin

I just found your blog today, so I don’t know if that hurts my chances, but so far, my favorite part HAS to be the food pictures. Mmm, everything looks mouthwatering, it makes me trust everything else you have to say.

I also really like the other pictures that accompany some of your reviews, especially those that you took yourself. It’s personal and professional, all at once — and I just realized someone else already made that comment, but it’s too true to edit.

Anyways, I wouldn’t mind seeing more hair or clothes related posts either, although even if you were to leave things as is, it would still be excellent. And even though I don’t live in New York, I love the “insider” tips of stuff going on around the city (dessert walking tour, spa week, etc.) so seeing more of that would be nice as well.

      Loving everything, great job!
