Rumor Control: E.L.F is NOT being bought out

I love (and welcome!) forwards of the beauty-nature. I was momentarily giddy when got this one below today:

elf

I quickly went to the E.L.F. website but had a few thoughts: 1) E.L.F. products are normally this affordable 2) didn’t I get this forward before? Like, last year?; and 3) if this were true, it’d be big beauty news — and I haven’t read about it anywhere else.

So, I went straight to the source. Here’s what they had to say:

“No-this is absolutely untrue. E.L.F. Has nothing to do with Nordstrom-this is an online rumor that has been circulating.”

So there you have it. Good news though is those figures are their normal, low prices!

I bought ELF stuff a few years ago, and while the prices were definitely amazing, I found their quality to be on par with what you’d expect. Eyeshadows didn’t blend well, things were streaky or chalky, etc. Maybe they’ve improved since though, who knows.

I’ve actually only tried their lipgloss and lipliner which both worked decently well — can imagine eyeshadow would get creasey though for sure.
