And something I Won’t be missing: Veniero’s

img_4441

Veniero’s is an Italian bakery in the East Village that’s been around since 1894, and I don’t know why, but I really, really try to like this place. I’ve been here multiple times in the past three years because it seems like it has so much potential, and it’s great for small desserts with a big group. I just always end up leaving disappointed. I’ve been trying to find a dessert that makes me want to come back, and so far the only thing that is worth the trouble at all are their cheesecakes. Their other cakes seem to spongey, bland, and drinks too bitter, like this iced cappuccino I tried my luck on when I went a couple days ago.

The worst disappointment was a couple of my friends were UBER excited to try their Spumoni after seeing it on posters all over the store. When tried ordering, they said they didn’t have anything listed on their posters!! They settled for mediocre gelato. Sad times.

I dont understand how someone told you no Spumoni… I worked there for years, it is sad you felt that way. but they do sell spumoni, the best ones! also, the strawberry tart you got it is supposed to be with wipped cream, the is the mix fruit tart that has custard (A LOT) but strawberry is only wipped! again, sorry you felt that way!
