Padma Lakshmi, the seductive host of Bravo’s Top Chef (and one-time actress on that Jesus channel where they reenact scenes from the Bible–I saw this with my own eyes), is taking her love for food to a whole new level.
This past Spring, Lakshmi launched an eponymous food-inspired jewelry line. But before you conjure visions of banana necklaces and grape earrings, give the girl some credit. Lakshmi combined her love for vintage baubles from India with her passion for food and design to create a line that is as stunning and feminine as the former model herself. The Indian beauty took her inspiration from foods such as lentils and cardamom pods to give each piece movement. The line features delicate gold necklaces, earrings, and hand pieces–each with dainty bean drops that flutter and dance.
Who better to make the lightness of the Padma Collection shine in its very first ad campaign than famed photographer, Steven Miesel? The ad, like the rest of the line, has been funded completely by Lakshmi and is set to debut in Hearst’s “30 Days of Fashion” September supplement.
