Kylie Minogue took nail polish art to a whole new level. Using a mix of red and pink shades, she used nail polish to create an abstract design over a photo of herself for an auction benefiting a music charity in the UK.
“I saw a box of nail varnish at home, and loved the colours and the sheen. I almost covered the surface but it felt right to stop when I did.”
Minogue along with 70+ musicians and visual artists (including U2, Michael Stipe, Editors, Natalie Imbruglia, Little Boots, and Andre 3000) were asked to make art out of a photograph chosen by famed British photographer, Rankin for a series entitled “Destroy.” The art was auctioned to benefit Youth Music as part of the UK’s National Youth Music Week 2009.

Personally, loving Minogue’s nail polish painting — what do you think? Kinda makes me want to bust out my stash for a little make up art myself…
