NYFW Mixer and fab hair from Red Door Spa

Lianne Farbes of (The Makeup Girl) and Paul Baranda (Beyond Beauty Basics) hosted a fabulous event last Friday at the ION studio in Soho: the 2nd Annual NYFW Mixer sponsored by Secret.

Such a fun event!! Imma be honest though, the highlight of my day was getting my hair done by genius hair man, Hervé Merlino from the Red Door Spa, at the W Hotel Times Square, where Lianne organized stylists to come and get us ready before the big night. When he saw me he said right away, “I’m thinking curls.” I can’t say I was sure about it at the time, but he is seriously so good. He did my hair in 20 minutes and my hair had MAJOR volume and bouncy curls. No use of products either!

So, I hate posting pics of moi, but I couldn’t get over how fast and expertly he finished my hair. I definitely took the end-of-the-night pic here:

It was so nice meeting fellow beauty bloggers and getting face time with brands, like Stila, who set up a “makeup touch-up” corner. That’s where makeup artist Dominick perked up my cheeks with Stila Convertible Color For Lips And Cheeks. They even gave me a little tweet shout out afterwards! More to come on their really awesome one-step foundation I discovered at the event too…stay tuned, yes?

UPDATE: Some more shots from the NYFW Mixer!

Farakh, so sweet of you, but I seriously need to get back on my routine…I eat a LOT but I walk a lot in the city too. I also ran the half marathon late last year and I feel like my body just feels stronger since! But yeah, def need to get back in shape now

You know what, in retrospect, he didn’t put any product in at all, but knowing my hair I spritz a little Ted Gibson hair spray on it before I left..still held for a veryy long time!Def made use of my Klorane dry shampoo to keep it going 🙂
