Inspiration of the Day: Cherry Blossoms

My view before falling asleep under a cherry blossom tree

I’m a little cherry blossoms-obsessed. Every year, I plan to the Cherry Blossom Festival in DC, and yet another year goes by where I have not. I decided I’d find a solution closer to home and went to visit the Brooklyn Botanic Garden this weekend where the cherry blossoms have just begun to bloom.

Cherry Blossom season runs til May 2nd, 2010.

May 1st and May 2nd is the Sakura Matsuri celebration (or the Japanese ‘rite of Spring’) at Brooklyn Botanic Garden — a weekend celebrating Japanese culture with over 60 events and performances. Check it out for a sampling of contemporary and traditional Japanese music and dance, taiko drumming, ikebana flower arranging, Japanese DJs, presentations on the art of manga, and tea ceremonies.
