Tandoori Nights in Sacramento

Chicken
Lamb

The first place my dad took me out to eat on a recent visit to Sacramento, CA, was his favorite restaurant in the area, Tandoori Nights.

Is there some sort of siesta in California that restaurants follow? Because when we got there, they were just closing after lunch (at 3pm) and were getting ready to open up again at 5pm. With some light pleading though, the owner did end up taking our order.

When the plates came out, the portions looked deceivingly small, but it were super filling. The halaal chicken, lamb and goat kebaabs were juicy without being too oily, tasty without being dry. I also loved that the naan (bread) was also a happy medium of being tender without being oily.

It’s a modestly sized place, but if you’re ever in the area, it’s worth the stop.
