Physicians Formula is getting fancccy. The drugstore brand has recently unveiled their new makeup collection to make you happy — literally. Their new Happy Booster is the first makeup line ever to combine mood-enhancing ingredients, color therapy, aromatherapy and texture therapy to make you, well, happy.
The combination is pretty innovative. They formulated a proprietary blend that contain skin-uplifting ingredients, like arctic rose that mimics the effect of endorphins and euphoryl, which is rich in Omega-3, a well-known anti-depressant. Seed butters, like murumuru, provide a silky smooth, luminous finish. There’s even wisdom in the design — they purposely used hearts since it’s linked to be a smile-inducing design.
To me, the most unique part about the blend is the palette actually SMELLS pretty. They infused with violet floral notes to reinvigorate you mood, and the red/pink combination uses color therapy to make you feel joyful every time you apply.
Does it penetrate your skin to make you happy all day? I’ve been using it, and while I appreciate all its “happy” elements and serious luminous finish, I can’t make any promises about an all day high. The combination of pink and a bronzing tan makes it a nice combo to give your cheeks beautiful glow. I’ve been using it nonstop!
PF has also come out with their new Cashmere Wear Ultra-Smoothing Bronzer which uses 100% PURE cashmere extract and hyaluronic acid to smooth out the appearance of fine lines. It gives a more orange-toned glow. I had to top it on my regular bronzer since it’s a bit more subtle and doesn’t show up as easily on my skin tone.
Their Eye Booster eye liner is another totally unique product. It’s not only a pen-shaped eye liner that lets you make extra-precise lines (good for me), it’s also a lash-boosting serum in one. It’s also water and smudge resistant. I’m wearing it below with thier Organic Wear Mascara.
The mascara contains 100% naturally derived ingredients, and is free of preservatives and synthetic dyes, parabens and fragrances. I love that it’s good for my lashes (and it’s flashy packaging that’s totally recyclable…I’m a sucker for packaging) so I’ve been feel less guilty about using it everyday; though, I will say the jumbo brush make it a little hard to get to my inner lashes without getting a tad clumpy. Still, it gives my lashes a pretty good lift.
