3 amazing beauty products for busy people (and procrastinators)

I happen to fall in both categories…actually, more the latter…actually, a little more than I like to admit. ANYWAY. So yes, I feel like I’m on-the-go quite a bit, but these few products have made it pretty easy by cutting some serious time on my routines.

Exhibit A: Batiste Dry Shampoo. Price: $8

Batiste Dry Shampoo in Blush, Original and Tropical scents

When you’re in a rush, this thing is a God-send. I’ve already talked about how discovering dry shampoo has been life-changing experience (Read: What is Dry Shampoo?). But really good ones are few and far in between. Klorane’s has always been my go-to, but Batiste’s has been creeping up the ladder to be my new favorite (and it’s half the price!). It sops up any extra grease and gives you volume so you can go longer between washing your hair. I’m not a big morning person, and I’ve always felt I can’t afford to lose precious minutes of sleep by waking up an extra hour or more to shower/do my hair before work (before you jump on me and say ‘eww that’s so gross,’ I’m a night shower-er aightttt?). But sometimes my hair isn’t looking so pretty first thing, and this has always come through without making me look like I have dandruff issues later on in the day as similar products can do. I’ve been using the Blush scented one that’s sitting in my bathroom, and that also belongs to one of my roommates…I’m not sure which one, but I think I will be after this post. (Hi roomie! Thanks for letting me use your dry shampoo!).

EXHIBIT B: ProActiv’s Makeup Removing Cloths. Price: $12-$15 for 45 towelettes

ProActiv Makeup Removing Cloths

These.Are.Amazing. The worst thing ever is when you come home and you’re super exhausted, but wake up the minute you wash your face.

Ok, I take the back.

The worst thing EVER is when you come home and you’re super exhausted and because you’re smart, you use a makeup removing towelette so you don’t have to splash water on your face and suddenly wake up, and it removes your makeup but then it makes your eyes BURN.

Not these. Which I thought was surprising because you think they would be loaded with some sort of harsh acne-treating chemicals. But really, the pre-moistened towelettes are soap- and alcohol-free and non-irritating. Instead, it contains soothing ingredients like allantoin and lavender. I swear my face looks brighter and feels softer in the morning too. But I could be crazy, I dunno.

EXHIBIT C: Sally Hansen Complete Manicure Nail Polish. Price: $6.

Sally Hansen Complete Manicure in Cafe au Lait

OK, once again, a product whose praises I’ve sang before (Read: Sally Hansen Complete Manicure in Iced Coffee), but my earlier post was mostly about how much I loved that color…which I still do by the way. This nail polish not only has a shiny and neat finish, but it dries MAD fast. For the first time, I’ll actually do my nails in a rush. Sure, there are other quick-drying formulas, but they chip just as quickly. I don’t think they market this specific one as a quick drying polish, but from experience, I think they need to start doing so!

What are some of your favorite products to use when you’re short on time?

x
Shy

I have tried the original version of the Batiste and I thought it was awesome. When I ran out of that I bought the one from Tresemme and it is also really good.

I have Tresemme’s too (product hoarder much?)…it’s ok, I thought it’s a bit more sticky/messy than this one, no?

Hi Shy! How is the scent? Does it make hair feel sticky? I used to swear by Klorane’s, until my brother told me it smelled like the stuff they use to clean up vomit. Bumble and Bumble’s hair powder didn’t smell horrible, but it has color, which would always come off on clothing, and it made my hair feel sticky. I’ve tried Tresemme and it’s okay — doesn’t smell great but not awful either.

Hi! Scent-wise, Ojon’s is the best but they’re notorious for their bottles getting all clogged up fast (happened to me too). Batiste Blush has this laundry detergent/baby powder smell (I just spritzed it to check), so depends on your preference 🙂

shy did you buy the curly haired one or straight haired one from tresseme? because at first i bought the curly haired one that is like a mousse and used it on my straight hair and that was a disaster. Then I bought the straight haired one that is a spray and it was much better. I still think I will go back to batiste when i run out cuz it was the best.
