I don’t know what took me so long to try Tarte‘s fabulous range of chubby LipSurgence lip stains, but I’ve finally come around. They have the most delightful colors and come in different finishes (luster, tints, and mattes). Apparently, I’m the last to know because I’ve already realized my friends have been way ahead of me in the obsession. Let’s start with Joy (a peach lip tint) which was my introduction to the line. It’s more on the orange side, which makes it kind of my first time dabbling with that shade of lip color:
Baby steps people. It has a shiny finish, but not a goopy glossy one which can carry you from day to night. Next is the matte “Hope” shade, a warm, flesh-toned rose color. It also has tiny specks of glitz if you look closely:
Finally, one of their newer shades, “Peaceful.” This was popping out of my bag one day and my friend sitting next to me saw it and told me how much she loves the chubby sticks too! I gave it to her to experiment but I had tried it once myself beforehand…it’s a nude-peach, but on my lips you can see it’s a lot more sheen than color. It’s great for a light everyday color.
All of the chubby sticks are $24. Of course, in true Tarte fashion, they’re made free of any parabens or pthalates and instead contain conditioning ingredients like jojoba oil and and vitamin E. Has anyone else tried them? Tell me about your favorite colors!
