Inspiration of the Day: 41 Strings+Loomstate Earth Day concert

Ok, so they’re about a month late, but I’m so glad organic and environmentally-conscious brand, Loomstate decided to carry out the 41 strings concert last Wednesday in honor of Earth Day anyway. Forty-one musicians (including Nick Zinner and Brian Chase of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs; Hisham Akira Bharoocha and Ben Vida of Soft Circle) got together to perform in front of an audience of about 1,400 at the Hudson Hotel in midtown.

Instead of performing on a stage, the group assembled in a circle, facing each other while they played and the audience stood right behind them (or on the 2nd floor loft watching from above. Last year, they had 40 drummers, but this year it was focused on, well, strings (guitars, violins, cellos). And OK, so I know it’s not technically makeup or food, but I love sharing some of the more inspiring performances and sights I find in New York. I took some videos (albeit, kinda crappy because I was standing right behind drummer Brian Chase and didn’t have the best angle for taping purposes), but hope you enjoy anyway — the songs have been stuck in my head!

Ok, now off to The Makeup Show! So much more to update you guys on, if only I can manage to get a minute to sit down and catch you all up!
