First of all, I mean seriously, how ridiculous is this view of the city at sunset??
Sorry random tangent…The real reason we were there enjoying the view was because CoverGirl invited me and other beauty aficionados to the beautiful penthouse rooftop at The Mondrian in Soho to celebrate yet another gorgeous collaboration from Pat McGrath with LeSportsac.
No better way to celebrate than with the most stunning views of the city (OK, on maybe the most humid of days…why did I wear my black skinny jeans again?? Bad idea). And I was even more psyched to share it with my fellow blogging buddy, Archana! Makeovers were happening, red velvet kissed cupcakes were being passed out, plum and cherry-flavored shaved ice and other sugary candy were served (which we took FULL advantage of)…all and everything a beauty-food blogger could ask for after a long day at the office, I say :).
Among the faces were The Daily Show‘s Oliva Munn, model Ajak Deng, 90210‘s Shenae Grimes, and Gossip Girl‘s Tika Sumpter (who plays the headstrong Raina Thorpe on the show), and one of my bestie-makeup artists, Ashunta Sheriff.
Ashunta did Tika’s makeup for the evening. She told me, “the secret to getting a gorgeous summer glow” for Tika started with Mally Beauty Perfect Prep Poreless Primer, CoverGirl NatureLuxe Silk Foundation in shade #370, CoverGirl Queen Collection Mineral Bronzer in Ebony Bronze for depth and and Light Bronze for highlight. She also used CoverGirl Smoky Shadowblast Bronze Fire with LashBlastFusion Mascara in Very Black on top and bottom lashes. Finally, she topped it off with NARS blush in Exhibit A and CoverGirl Lip Perfection Lipstick in Romance.
Of course, I asked the Queens-born actress about her favorite New York restaurant: “It’s a little off the map, but I love Buenos Aires,” she said. “Their steak…Oh my God. When I’m there, I have to put my fork down every few bites and be like ‘You guys…this steak, seriously you need to try this!'”
She was so sweet, and told us how much fun she has filming in her city with Chase Crawford…hard life I tell ya… Just before leaving, Archana and I decided to have a little CoverGirl moment of our own. Just this once ;)…
