So Fashion Week is officially over, and I’m on my couch sipping TheraFlu. Yesss. The good news is I survived pretty much all the backstage reporting and events, including the last one I went to, which was MAC Cosmetics VivaGlam launch with Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin. And let me say, MAC went all out for the launch party…check out the digs:
And those letters? Were totally spinning the whole time. And I almost totally ran into them more than a few times. It’s true.
Anyway. The party was to officially introduce Minaj and Martin as MAC’s new Viva Glam spokespeople. Every cent of products goes to support the MAC AIDS Fund. Nicki came out with a Barbie pink lipstick ($14.50) while Ricky came out with his colorless lip conditioner ($15). The two came on stage in what was a mother of entrances (complete with fog, lights, and a whole stage that spun in a total 180 where Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin appeared on a motorcycle).
No Roman Holiday or La Vida Loca performances from the two (sad face), but that was OK…because when the stage spun around one more time, a smiling DJ Benny Benassi appeared spinning the most amazing tunes (I took a snippet of it on my YouTube…I so wish I taped more!).
I’d say it was the highlight of the week. Had so much fun with the beauty girls. And there was quite a crowd in attendance: Alexander Wang, Christian Siriano, Kelly Osbourne, Angela Simmons, Coco Rochas, Tinsley Mortimer, and more. Here are some more pics from the night!
