P&G Beauty Red Carpet Trend Report event

I had the pleasure of joining the hair and makeup experts with P&G BeautyBruce Grayson, for makeup, and Marcus Francis, for hair—for some insight into this season’s hottest red-carpet trends. As we all learned from Meryl Streep aka Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada, today’s runway is tomorrow’s mainstream fashion, so these tips and tricks can help us all get ahead of the game.

Check out the trend report at the end of this post, loaded not only with celebrity looks that Bruce and Marcus consider to be the hottest around, but also, some P&G products they swear by.

Stylists faves

For the record, I was dubious about this event. It’s product-sponsored, so how genuine could these guys be when promoting products they’re paid to talk about? But after sitting down with them, I became more of a believer; it was clear they used and loved these products. Sure, they liked some more than others (Bruce talked for AGES about the CoverGirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm and the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Eye and Lash Duo) and Marcus seemed to especially like the Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Color Protect Spray and the Pantene Age Defy Thickening Treatment), but in general, they seemed to trust the brand and use the products regularly.

Bruce Grayson and Marcus Francis

Following their presentation, Marcus and Bruce did demonstrations (in a room walled in adorably decorated white boards) and I had the pleasure of participating in the hair demo. Marcus is not only extremely sexy (ummmm) but also very talented (which is, ahem, the most important thing, of course, over sexiness, although…). He did a quick but pretty side-sweep style on me. The makeup demo was perfect, too. Bruce did a very subtle smokey brown on a beautiful brunette attendee, which is perfect for day-to-night makeup.

He loves me, what can I say

This is where the photog said, 'Marcus made your hair look pretty. So be silly and give a double thumbs up. It's how supermodels do it, I swear.' So you see, I am only a victim here.

Red carpet makeovers in effect!

CoverGirl Outlast manicures

After the demonstrations, we were set loose to enjoy makeovers and manicures by a team of pros, and also to try the products ourselves. Like Bruce, I was loving the Cover Girl lip balm; it’ll be the first product I buy off their list. Check out some of the beauty trends for yourself below, and what drugstore products can help achieve the look!
