Recently, Caress invited me and a few bloggers to the top of the Gramercy Park Hotel to learn more about their Tempting Whisper Fine Elixir Fine Fragrance Elixir Body Wash…and to go shopping with actress La La Anthony, their honorary Fabulista (not a bad gig, right? ;)).
We learned some cool stuff about the perfumed body wash that was concocted by top experts at fragrance house, Givaudan (if you remember, this same body wash happened to be one of my favorite picks of the month recently). Like a perfume, it has different notes — its top notes, which is what you smell when you open the bottle to sniff, are red plum, tuberose, and night jasmine; the middle notes, which is the smell that fills us the room when you take a shower, are wild peony and lily of the valley; and finally the bottom notes, the smell left behind on your skin, is tonka bean. We had a chance to smell them individually, which on their own each note smelled incredibly but mixed together was absolutely heavenly.
Let it be known, La La is a true fashionista (and quite stunning in person!). Luckily, she was game for some q’s about working with Caress and her favorite beauty tips!
Beauty and the Feast: What is the best part about being a Caress Fabulista?
La La Anthony: For me, fragrance is an essential part of any look because it sets the tone for my day, from how I feel to what I wear. I love being a Caress Fabulista because I get to show women how fragrance can inspire them to live fabulously every day. I actually put all my beauty and style tips on Caress’ Facebook page, so women can go there all year long to get inspired!
BATF: What is your skin/body regimen like?
Anthony: My skin regimen is very important to me because I want to make sure that I’m taking care of my skin by washing off all of the makeup and grind of the day to rejuvenate for the next day. Right now, I have the new Caress’ Tempting Whisper Fine Fragrance Elixir Body Wash is in my shower – it has such alluring fragrances and has been inspiring me to wear so many hot trends this season — from floral print dresses to bold pink accessories.
BATF: You have the most gorgeous eyes! What do you do to play them up?
Anthony: Just a great mascara and eyeliner can do wonders! They really make my eyes stand out and make them look open.
BATF: What are some of your favorite outfits for date night with your husband, Carmelo Anthony? What restaurants do you like to go to go?
Anthony: Some of my favorite outfits for date night are dresses that I feel sexy and confident in. Carmelo and I love Nobu in both NY or LA, but lately we’ve been into trying new restaurants.
BATF: If someone were to peek in your handbag, what would they find?
Anthony: If someone were to peek in my handbag they would find my phone, [my son] Kiyan’s iPad, fruit snacks for Kiyan, and some of my favorite Motives pieces. [note: LaLa created her own collection within Motives cosmetics!]
BATF: Do you have a favorite beauty tip?
Anthony: My key beauty tip is to always wash your makeup off at the end of the day. It’s so important to take care of your skin on a daily basis.
Finally, La La gave some of the season’s trendiest fashion tips! Here are her top three from that day:
1) Flirty and Feminine – Flirty, feminine looks like lace, floral and peplum are hot for summer. To flaunt this look, wear a flirty white lace dress and cinch at the waist with a pink skinny belt. Complement your feminine look with soft accessories and the alluring, sweet notes of wild peony and red plum from Caress’ Tempting Whisper Body Wash.
2) Playful Prints – Fashion and style should be playful and nothing is more mesmerizing and fun than a wardrobe with prints to mix-and-match. Try contrasting colors prints and layers or turn it up a notch with metallic and floral patterns. If you are unsure about a look, stay within color families, that way clashing patterns look edgy and avant-garde.
3) Wear Neon – I love that designers are embracing neon this season! There is no better way to be bold than adding a splash of pink or a pop of color into your summer wardrobe to punch up an outfit. These super-brights will help you feel bold and confident – like a true Fabulista.
