Hot chocolate, anyone?

I stopped by Sugar Cafe on the Lower East Side one night after watching Australian band The Temper Trap play at the Mercury Lounge nearby (sidenote: it was my first time hearing the band and they were really good!).

I sat down to do some work and ordered a hot chocolate, not expecting anything fancy…then again, who really does when they order hot chocolate?? I was pleasantly surprised to see that they took it up a notch and added some whip cream and chocolate sprinkles — simple additions which made it that much more appetizing. In fact, I was so delighted I just had to take a picture for you all. Maybe I have a thing for sprinkles?

But what makes this most notable is that it’s equal parts sweet-looking and gratifying. I downed that thing.

Hot Chocolate, $2/small, $2.75/large
