My current fave brunch spot: Falai Panneteria

Organic Yogurt, $8
Organic Yogurt, $8

I told you I love brunch, especially in the city. Falai Panneteria, a little Italian cafe nestled quite nicely on the corner of Clinton and Rivington on the LES, always seems to hit the spot, and today was no exception. It has two sister locations with different menus, Falai, which is literally the next block over further down Clinton and is more a dinner and drinks place; and Caffe Falai on Lafayette that serves breakfast, paninis, and pastries. But this one at Rivington has seen me pop in more than a few times for the first meal of the day as well as the last. I’ve been there a couple times when they were closing for the day, and the waiters have both times been kind enough to offer a bag of pastries and croissants on my way out!

They serve dinner too, but I definitely recommend going early for their Organic Yogurt (top picture), $8, which is yogurt topped with a mix of blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberies, candied almonds, and honey; their baked eggs with spinach, goat cheese, and sundried tomato $11 (I’ve tried their tomato and basil one too which is good, but I like this better…I order it with egg whites usually).

Baby Arugula Salad, $9
Baby Arugula Salad, $9

And OMG, I LOVE their Baby Arugula salad (above), $9, a mountain of arugula, beets, fennel, roasted almonds, and goat cheese, topped with roasted shallot vinaigrette. If you’re into salads, definitely try this one.

Clockwise, Onion Soup, $7; breadsticks, and Baked spinach omelet with goat cheese, $12

The white decor with Italian-themed posters, and little porcelain chandeliers make the place both cozy and inviting. I always perk up when I see their trademark white and black striped canopy outside. Just had to share. More pics below. Let me know if you stop by and what you think!

Yes, it’s definitely small but love the food! Their other locations are bigger for sure, but I’m a loyalist to this one in particular!
