So in my recent trip to Miami I learned a few things: 1) I might be totally OK living near a beach for the remainder of my life; 2) Some friends can get creative with planning bachelorette party activities, which I will not repeat here in a public forum — or ever; 3) There are some lip glosses that should not be left out in plain view sight, lest one of your friends are tempted to steal them. Because I was told this might happen. These are some of those glosses:

Just to reiterate why these are my current faves:

BUXOM BIG & HEALTHY LIP POLISH IN APRIL, $19 for full size: I’m a big fan of this line (my all-time favorite color is Dani, in original pink/berry). It always leaves the perfect shimmering color and gives a little (non-irritating) lift to lips. I was carrying a mini-travel friendly size (which came in an AWESOME limited edition set that you can now only find on eBay at best!), but you can still find the full size at Sephora if you want to experience it in all its pink, sparkling glory yourself.

BURT’S BEES 100% NATURAL LIP SHINE IN WINK, $7: These are the LATEST launch from the brand, and they are the most amazing, buttery, sheer glosses I’m convinced you’ll love. It’s a totally natural formula (shea and cocoa butter, sunflower, and of course, beeswax) that hydrates and has the most delicious apricot-flavor. Love that it gives a beautiful color and conditions my lips as well.

LAURA GELLER LIP POP IN PALAZZO PETAL, $17: Since we’re talking about delicious glosses, it’s really hard to top Laura Geller’s Lip Pops. They straight up taste like strawberry candy and its shade of Palazzo Petal is a gorgeous shade of creamy pink. I think I had a odd-almost-but-not-as-much-as-I’d-admit bout of depression for the 5 minutes I thought I lost this somewhere in our hotel room because there’s really nothing like it. You can buy these individually for $17, but (HINT!!), they have a SIMILAR shade that comes in a lip gloss trio on sale right now at Hautelook.com (normally $36 but only $22 right now). If I were you, I would jump on that.

If my blog were a person, I’d be giving her a good, long hug right now and tell her I’m sorry for neglecting her and, baby, it won’t happen again. Of course, she’d believe me and take me back (and I do promise to treat her better!). And now that all is OK, I have to tell you about these sumptuous Fall 2012 lip colors from Shiseido. In the wise words of Rihanna, Where have you been all my life?

Shiseido’s Lacquer Rouge lip colors are everything. It comes in a lip gloss type holder, but don’t get it confused — it’s not goopy like regular glosses and doesn’t age you like some lipsticks. It’s somewhere in between, with a brilliant, intense color. I tried them on myself and love the color payoff — check em out:

Yes, you read right: Airline Virgin Atlantic are partnering up with beauty brand bareMinerals to create a bespoke lip color, Pretty Amazing Lipcolor in shade ‘Upper Class Red. The partnership marks the launch of Virgin’s redesigned Upper class cabin this spring.

The color is supposed to embody “jet-set glamour” and an ode to the distinct re lips, suits, and shoes the cabin crew are known to rock on board.

“Red hot lips have always been a trademark of our cabin crew, signifying the strength and confidence they embody,” noted Rebecca Creer, Senior Spas and Grooming Manager at Virgin Atlantic Airways. “With the launch of ‘Upper Class Red’, one of Virgin Atlantic’s most iconic attributes is finally being made available to passengers. Meaning one swipe of this color is all you need to create a classic and timeless look – something our cabin crew can certainly vouch for!”

To promote the launch, all the female cabin crew will be wearing the shade on board the new Upper Class Cabin — the first flight to see those ruby red lips? The A330 flight from London to New York.
