Nails & Gadgets: Covergirl Fanicures and EYN phone covers!

September 25, 2013

Good news for football fans! The NFL recently partnered with CoverGirl to bring you Fanicures — nail polish bundles inspired by your favorite team’s colors. I went “nailgate-ing” recently with celebrity manicurist Ayana Clark, and got a Giants mani for myself :).

(By the way, the nails above are FIVE days after my manicure — no chips! Legit, I always say these Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Glosses are made to last). Ayana used CoverGirl’s Snow Storm #110, Sapphire Flare #307, and Lasting Love #180 for my fanicure. (Giants fans can click here to check out the How-To).

I thought it’d also be a good time to show you another cool product, because somewhere along the way, my Nails & Gadgets posts became a thing here. So with that, let me introduce you to EYN iPhone storage cases, which I’ve already got my cousin and sister hooked on.

EYN iPhone case in Chartreuse

EYN (which aptly stands for Everything You Need) cases look even better in person. Some cool features: the covers are made of a soft-as-butter polycarbonate; it allows you to carry the bare essentials like credit cards and cash safely in a clip; it even has a mirror inside for touch-ups. Love this for everyday use or as a gift (the Galaxy covers are coming in a couple months!), and costs $30 at eynproducts.com.

In today’s edition of nails and gadgets…

July 15, 2013

Another day another mani. This time, it’s Incoco’s Park Guell Nail Polish Strips. These are honestly one of my favorite nail strips now! I find them to be a little more resilient than most brands. These are my nails after a whole night of chopping, marinating, and cooking. They still are in pretty good shape! PS, any idea what I’m holding?

OK this is a really short game….

Mujjo phone sleeve

It’s a phone sleeve straight from Holland. This one is a Mujjo original for the Galaxy S3. A little more Fall than summer with the dark felt. But sleek touches like a brown leather clasp gives it a little more sophistication. (Love this for a gift!)

.

A space for your phone, and an extra pocket for cash or credit cards. That much less to lug around.

The sleeve is available at mujjo.com for $39 (available for the iPhone too!).

Maybelline New York goes electric!

March 13, 2013

Just another day playing with nail polish.

Maybelline Color Me Electric

Maybelline New York just released their brand new, limited-edition Color Goes Electric line and it’s available only this month! Thought I’d give you a preview:

Blast of Blue

So all this nail art that have been popping up has been magnifying my own ineptness to come up with fun designs. Thus, I thought I’d try to distract you all instead with the new iPhone case I got my roomie from Caseable (they handcraft electronic cases straight from Brooklyn!).

This case: Meditation ABC by Kaitlyn Parker

THEN I decided I’d at least try to do something fancy with Alluring Rose and Coral Glow (which, PS, was also the official color of NYFW!):

Alluring Rose x Coral Glow

All the formulas are formaldehyde, DBP, and toluene-free, and (best part) cost $4 at drugstores. Which basically means you can get all 10 shades without hating yourself afterwards.

Sally Hansen Nails x iPhone cover

My sister, Hajera, knows how much I love Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips (I wrote about them here and here), so she got me a box in their gold/black print called Misbehaved for my birthday. I thought Fashion Week was the perfect time to rock them–what easier way is there to do your nails on your own time at home with zero dry time?

My friend Saqib also happened to have this nifty tweed iPhone cover that matched it so well, thought it’d be a good photo op :).

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips ($10) are available at drugstores.
