Bare Escentuals launching their Bare Minerals Skincare Line
Bare Escentuals is already pretty much on top of their game when it comes to makeup. Now, their most recent endeavor is Bare Minerals Skincare, a brand new line of cleansers, moisturizers, and skin-beautifying treatments.
It’s claim to fame is their proprietary “miracle” ingredient, RareMinerals ActiveSoil Complex which is said to give you brighter, younger-looking, GLOWING skin and infused in all their products. Check some of them out below:
*PURELY NOURISHING MOISTURIZER (combination skin) – Hydrates and firms, improving elasticity, radiance and skin texture. It includes a powerful blend of antioxidants that help protect against environmental stressors.
*FIRMING EYE TREATMENT – Firms, reduces puffiness.
*PURE TRANSFORMATION NIGHT TREATMENT – They call this the “hero product” in the lineup. Clinically proven to visibly reduce pores, increase firmness and improve elasticity, while revealing remarkably healthier, younger-looking skin. Available In Four Tones: clear, light, medium and tan – a treatment product that instantly diffuses imperfections, while you sleep.
*BLEMISH THERAPY – A powder treatment helps to heal, conceal and prevent future breakouts. Contains acne-healing benefits of natural sulfur; non-irritating, all-in-one treatment also helps to minimize pores, neutralize redness and diffuse imperfections.

3 amazing beauty products for busy people (and procrastinators)
I happen to fall in both categories…actually, more the latter…actually, a little more than I like to admit. ANYWAY. So yes, I feel like I’m on-the-go quite a bit, but these few products have made it pretty easy by cutting some serious time on my routines.
Exhibit A: Batiste Dry Shampoo. Price: $8
When you’re in a rush, this thing is a God-send. I’ve already talked about how discovering dry shampoo has been life-changing experience (Read: What is Dry Shampoo?). But really good ones are few and far in between. Klorane’s has always been my go-to, but Batiste’s has been creeping up the ladder to be my new favorite (and it’s half the price!). It sops up any extra grease and gives you volume so you can go longer between washing your hair. I’m not a big morning person, and I’ve always felt I can’t afford to lose precious minutes of sleep by waking up an extra hour or more to shower/do my hair before work (before you jump on me and say ‘eww that’s so gross,’ I’m a night shower-er aightttt?). But sometimes my hair isn’t looking so pretty first thing, and this has always come through without making me look like I have dandruff issues later on in the day as similar products can do. I’ve been using the Blush scented one that’s sitting in my bathroom, and that also belongs to one of my roommates…I’m not sure which one, but I think I will be after this post. (Hi roomie! Thanks for letting me use your dry shampoo!).
Acne treatments: The difference between salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide
I’m in a very geeky-Thursday mood. Well, it actually started when a friend of mine and I were talking recently about acne treatments and somehow (attempted) to get into the nitty-gritty about the difference between two common ingredients found in acne-fighting products: salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide. I’m sure many of you are at least familiar with the names from the noted active ingredients in your face wash or similar products. But what’s the difference between them? How would you know when to use one over the other?
I asked, Dr. Mona A. Gohara, assistant clinical professor of the department of dermatology at Yale’s School of Medicine (who also helped us figure out our summer dry skin woes), to give us some more insight on the two ingredients:
Zeno signs on The City’s Whitney Port with a New Contest!
This doesn’t surprise me at all, but ZENO Hot Spot, the emergency zit zapping device, just officially signed on the fresh faced Whitney Port as its new spokesperson.
To celebrate, Zeno is launching a new contest to win a trip to NYC for a 3-night stay where you will enjoy a “Spa Day” and be introduced to Whitney herself!
Zeno’s BlemishBuster Hotline for Fashion Week Models
Hey, models get pimples too.
ZENO recently came out with the mini Hot Spot, which uses heat to kill bacteria that causes your pimples. It activates when you place your finger on the area indicated. Then just place the metal part on the treatment area of you face until it starts beeping repeatedly after 2 1/2 minutes. It says that 90% of pimples will clear up within 24 hours.
So, it makes sense that during Fashion Week, ZENO currently set up a hotline for models who need an emergency zit zapper — no, really.

Dove's new Ultimate Visibly Smooth line
No need to mince words, right? That is how I imagine Dove came up with the name PitiCure for their latest at-home beauty solution for sensitive underarm skin. This ‘cure does for your pits what a pedicure does for your feet. Who knew that was necessary?
Creators say the treatment cares for the delicate area by removing dead skin and impurities through exfoliation, thus preventing unwanted irritation from shaving, sweating and contact with fabrics. I was a little skeptical. It actually just seemed like just another way to hawk their latest deodorant, the Ultimate Visibly Smooth Anti-Perspirant, which is supposed to help minimize the look and feel of underarm hair over time. After all, one whole step in the three-step process is dedicated to applying it.
