Inspiration of the Day
Something to fill the space while I’m gone. I kinda liked this picture by my friend Sadef of me at work! It was at a birthday dinner Centro Vinoteca in the West Village for our lovely friend, Kiran P.
I thought the blurry effect under the dim lights looked super cool. Post on the deliciousness of that dinner coming soon…when I get back!!

The Impossible Cool
The Impossible Cool is a photography blog I love+follow. It couldn’t have had a more fitting title. It’s a collection account of vintage photographs of serious style icons. Most of the pictures are black and white. I’m not sure why, but I have a strong affinity towards black and white photos (if you’ve ever scoped out my walls in my apartment, you’d know).
I remember once listening to photographer Norman Gershman speak at a gallery in SoHo. He prefers shooting in black and white himself and he said something to the effect of “I find color distracting.” I think there’s some truth in that. In the same way, I find these portraits kind of unfilter something so telling about its subjects. Their style is yes, impossibly cool, but it’s something more–their stance, their eyes, their confidence that seems to translate so purely through the photos. For a while, I feel like the blog had a bit of lull in posting, but it’s finally being updated again so I thought it’d be a great time to share. I’ve already been through the entire thing twice! A must-see video: 25 ways to wear a scarf
Most people who know me are well-aware of my scarf obsession. In every city or country I visit, the one thing I’ll be sure to pick up is a scarf. My collection is now overflowing, but thanks to my friend Fiaz who sent me this video, I’ll pretty much never run out of ways to wear it. This video is worth the watch — it’s so well done!
