Holiday gift ideas for coffee lovers from KitchenAid

image
If you follow me on any of my social channels, you probably know by now I’m an unapologetic a caffeine addict. My favorite part of the morning is starting with my cup of joe. One of the best gifts I’ve ever gotten was my pour over for my birthday because I use that every single day and it changed the way I look at and drink my coffee (straight up black, no sugar for the record).

With the holidays coming up, I figured you guys would know fellow coffee-lovers that you’re looking for a gift for. KitchenAid actually has a sleek line of products that fit the bill and your coffee fiend will get a lot of use from. Case in point:

KitchenAid Brewer

KitchenAid Brewer

KitchenAid’s Pour Over Coffee Brewer heats and pulses the water, so the grounds bloom and you get the most flavor for your coffee and the push of a button. If you ever tried brewing coffee manually (like I do at home!), you know that you have to pour water over the grind steadily and slowly to get the best flavor. This does the work for you.
KitchenAid Siphon Brewer

KitchenAid Siphon Brewer, ($199)

This is a different type of brewing method that comes from the vapor pressure pushing the water down the tube. Then a vacuum suction draws the coffee through the grounds. The difference is it extracts a little more distinct flavors from the beans you use. Next level stuff things. Plus, it looks like a conversation piece it itself, no? It brews 2-8 cups of coffee, so perfect if you entertain guests often. Makes a medium-bodied and complex flavor.

KitchenAid grinder

For the real coffee connoisseur, getting the best grind is an essential part of the process. I always have to go to a shop to get mine done, but this would make it so much easier if I could just do it at home!

KitchenAid Precision Press

KitchenAid Precision Press

KitchenAid Precision Press, ($149)

Using a French press like this one is a convenient way to get a delicious cup of coffee (it has an integrated scale and timer to ensure you get the best brew). Plus it has a sleek stainless steel design that retains heat, and its small size calls for less countertop clutter (another thing my small NYC apartment can use). Makes a bold, full-bodied cup of coffee.

To check out their full line of brewers, visit kitchenaid.com. They have a full line to take your coffee game up a notch or two J.

Anyone have a coffee grinder/machine at home? What do you normally use?

A peek inside my holiday beauty Babbleboxx

November 19, 2015

I was so excited to open my very first Babbleboxx, a delivery with generous-sized beauty samples that inspires posts like this one. I wasn’t told what was going to be in the box but was pleasantly surprised when it showed up with products that I already loved and new ones I’ve never tried before. Here’s the break down:

My holiday Babbleboxx

MAKE UP FOR EVER ULTRA HD FOUNDATION

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation and primers

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation and primers

This is a preview to a post I’m going to write about my current favorite foundations for medium skin, and I’ve already been obsessed with Make Up For Ever’s new Ultra HD Foundation. A little goes a long way and it looks like you’re wearing nothing. The new formula gives a lightweight Photoshopped finish that I’ll save for special occasions. The package also came with small sample sizes of their Skin Equalizer primers which keeps your foundation in place longer. Just lightly tap the foundation where you need coverage. ($43 at sephora.com)

JESSICA SIMPSON TEN

Jessica Simpson's Ten

Jessica Simpson’s Ten

For Jessica Simpson’s 10th anniversary as a fashion label, she released the fragrance Ten, a fruity floral with a mix of clementine, jasmine, vanilla, and sandalwood. It’s a beautiful day-to-night fragrance that starts off light and builds. The bottle itself is a work of art. They also threw in some of her gold flash tattoos — I’ve loved these ever since I got to play with them at Governor’s Ball this year. ($67 for a 100mL)

LAQA & CO. LIP LUBE PENCIL AND CHEEKY LIPS

Laqa & Co. lip and cheek pencils

Laqa & Co. lip and cheek pencils

I’ve seen the NY-based Laqa & Co. products before but this is the first time I’ve ever tried their face products. Their packaging is so cool because they use local artists to design them so they can present their talent to a larger audience, but the product themselves are really high quality. Their lip lube in Golly Gee Whiz looked like an intense red on the outside, but it goes on smooth with a semi-sheer, just-bitten finish. It also has a hint of peppermint and shea butter to soften. If you want something more intense and matte though, their Mixtape and Humblebrag are GORGEOUS shades of red and pink that do double-duty — swipe it on your cheeks and blend for a flush of color.

($20-$22 each at laqaandco.com but get an exclusive holiday offer of 30% discount in November using code: HOLIDAYLOVE)

WAY TOO TAN DARK HYBRID TANNING SILICONE

Way Too Tan sunless tanner

Way Too Tan sunless tanner

Finally, I was sent a sample and full sizes of sunless tanning Way Too Tan’s Dark Hybrid Tanning Silicone. The only time I use anything tanning is for my legs which don’t see enough sun (especially now in these colder months). The pump bottle is perfect for a non-messy application of the neutral-colored cream that that you apply before outdoor and indoor tanning and helps get your tone even and deep. It also has antioxidants like grape seed extract to help protect the skin. (Check out waytootan.com for more info).

Anyone try these products? Let me know what you think — you might be seeing me sport more of Laqa & Co products on my IG
