Maybelline New York goes electric!
Just another day playing with nail polish.
Maybelline New York just released their brand new, limited-edition Color Goes Electric line and it’s available only this month! Thought I’d give you a preview:
So all this nail art that have been popping up has been magnifying my own ineptness to come up with fun designs. Thus, I thought I’d try to distract you all instead with the new iPhone case I got my roomie from Caseable (they handcraft electronic cases straight from Brooklyn!).
I still Bull-lieve.
Man. As a Chicago Bulls fan, news of Derrick Rose suffering a torn ACL with a minute left during the 76ers game yesterday was devastating. Devastating. I was at a bridal shower when I heard the news, but received a barrage of texts from friends and emails from family and was hoping it wasn’t what it ended up being…but alas. Such a disappointing start to the playoffs. I think we were all hoping for some exciting games to come in the Eastern Conference with the Bulls. I’m still pulling for you, Chi-town! In the meantime, I was pushed to show my support…like so:
Yup. Chicago Bulls Nail Tattoos. I actually was wondering a few months ago if team nail tattoos existed, and after a quick Google search, I found them and stocked up. I bought four packs of these specifically for the playoffs either on eBay or this site: CBS Sports–I can’t remember now–but they were only $1-$2 for a pack of 4 sets (20 tattoos). You can also find them on Amazon.com, or Party City. I noticed they’re a lot easier to find now that the playoffs have officially started!
Sally Hansen Real Nail Polish Strips

Since I’ve tried Minx nails, which I wasn’t totally impressed with, I was put on to Sally Hansen’s Salon Effects Real Nail Strips by LDiva herself from Divalicious.
Nail art of the day
I just couldn’t resist…it’s the journalist in me:
Stumbled upon these newspaper-print nails, that were literally made using newspaper. The blog where you can find a tutorial on these nails is written in French though…so unless parlez vous Français, I suggest heading over to Google Translate to de-code these tips!

Watercolored nails
At least that’s what I think of when I saw Sabeen’s latest nail art
. Reminds me of a watercolor painting:

Nail art at Valley in Nolita
My cute lil cousin Sabeen just got engaged recently, and for the ceremony she came across Valley, a nail art salon in Nolita that also randomly sells vintage clothes on one end of the store. The nail artist there helped her customize a unique nail design just for her.
First she put two coats of gold glitter polish:
