As part of their Vintage collection, NARS is resurrecting five of their most popular high gloss colors today and I just think the colors (and their back stories) are so fun.
Here’s your abbreviated history lesson:
“Mash” (gold) – Launched in 1996 and inspired by the TV series M*A*S*H (it’s an army green infused with gold).
“King Kong” (copper brown with gold). Launched in 1996 and inspired by the movie its named after…giant ape becomes smitten by a hottie.
“Midnight Express” (deep navy). Also launched in ’96, but inspired by the 1970s movie for an inmate’s opportunity to escape from prison.
“Zulu” (forest green). Named after the 1964 British war movie starring Stanley Baker and Michael Caine (thus, the army green).
“Full Metal Jacket” (gunmetal gray). A shade from ’98 based off the Vietnam War movie directed by Stanley Kubrick back in ’87.
All are available for a limited time on narscosmetics.com for $16 each. What do you think of the colors?
