Make Up For Ever Lab Shine glosses

Make Up For Ever just released their Lab Shine series and if you’re looking for a shiny pop of color, look no further. There are three variations: the Diamond Collection that has a shimmery/transparent finish; the Star Collection, which contains their trademark Star Powder in it and is a little more opaque; and the Metal Collection with has a more sleek, chrome finish. Each of the shades show which collection they belong to depending if they start with ‘D’, ‘S’, or ‘M’.

Lab Shine Swatches in (R-L) S6, D6, M10

I was sent some to test, and first off, they are a thick coat of color without being goopey (a plus), and they are definitely SHINNNNE-EY due to its mother-of-pearl pigments. Check out their light-reflecting hues:

Lab Shine in S6 - a sheer, coral with peach and pale gold shimmer.

I feel like S6 is more ‘me,’ it’s a bit more translucent but peachy enough to show some color.

Lab Shine in D6: is fuchsia pink with magenta sparkles

The Diamond D6 is a more fun color that punches up a regular pink gloss with lots and lots of glitter. It’s a bit of an intense pink so I would keep everything else light.

Lab Shine in M10: a raspberry to ruby color

Finally, I’m in love with the mirror finish of M10, but I didn’t feel like it suited me as much…that said, it’s probably the first time I’ve ever tried a dark ruby gloss shade like this so it’s a little outside my comfort zone (yes, I know, I’ve done red lips before, but this is a deeper maroon shade and it’s much more opaque). It’s a gorgeous color for darker skin tones though.

Anyway, I still want to know your thoughts — which of the 3 are your favorite here??

The glosses cost $18 and are all available at sephora.com.
