HAIR: Ouidad was backstage bringing old Hollywood Jane Russell-esque glamour with a modern twist by giving the models soft curls. She first sprayed the models’ hair with the Styling mist and added Tress Effects Styling Gel, Climate Control (to control frizz) and PlayCurl Volumizing Foam for body. Using different sized barrels (small, medium, and large), they curled the hair then set it by rolling it up and pinning it flat on the models hair to set. After letting the hair set while the models got their make up done, Ouidad and her team then gently brushed through with a paddle brush for a soft wave. Just a little bit of shine glaze sets this look off.
See below for a brief interview with Ouidad herself on the look!
MAKEUP: Nadine Luke, lead stylist for MAC at the show, describes the look as “Good girl gone glam.” The smokey eye is inspired by the 80s when “makeup was really all about makeup.” Tara, she says, was also inspired by Malcom McClaren and Madame Butterfly.
To get the EYES: Apply MAC’s Feline eye pencil to lids and blend using 242. Then, using a navy or purple cream color base, buff with brush 224 (Luke says it’s her favorite MAC brush for blending). Top with a smoky brown shadow, and line the lower lashline with the same Feline eye pencil. Make sure not to line the inner lid so eyes still look more wide. Finish with MAC’s black fix studio fix lash mascara, and MAC gloss brilliance and MAC Pro Shine to the center of the lid.
To get the SKIN: Luke used MAC’s Prep + Prime skin and Studio Sculpt foundation, and a mix of Prep+Prime Finishing Powder with a minimal amount of their Well Dressed blush just to add a pinch of color to the cheeks.
To get the LIPS: Vino pencil/blended as a stain, and a mix of Runaway Red and One of a Kind lipstick. For softer edges, Luke began lining the lips from the inside.
